New Port Richey

New Port Richey is a city situated on 4.6 square miles in west-central Pasco County. The Gulf of Mexico coastline borders the west side of the city, and the Pithlachascotee River runs through the city’s heart. As of the census of 2011, there were 14,903 people, 6,756 households, and 3,962 families residing in the city.

New Port Richey is a residential community with a strong local government and an attractive historical downtown and Main Street. The city is most recognized for its irich history, cultural heritage and unique riverfront landscape. The geography blends nature, beaches, and great shopping with restaurants, culture and business, all with a small-town feel.

In 1995, New Port Richey became sister cities with Cavalaire-sur-Mer on the French Riviera. Downtown's Cavalaire Square, home to arts and cultural performances, was named in honor of it's sister city.

New Port Richey students are served by Pasco County Schools, and is also the location of a campus of Pasco-Hernando State College.
